19 Airbnb Amenities Guests Will Love in 2027

The Airbnb amenities guests love are often the things that make a stay feel easy. Soft cotton sheets. Good coffee without having to leave the house. Somewhere to put a suitcase. A welcome book that answers their questions before they need to message you.

As a 40 x Superhost and interior designer, I’m always thinking about how a space looks and how it feels to spend time there. A beautiful bedroom needs comfortable bedding and a reading light. A thoughtfully styled bathroom needs somewhere to hang a wet towel.

You don’t need to buy everything on this list. Start with the essentials, think about who you’re hosting, and choose a few extras that feel right for your property.

These are the 19 Airbnb amenities I’d consider for a welcoming, thoughtfully designed stay in 2027.

Airbnb Amenities Guests Love From the Moment They Arrive

1. A welcome mat that makes a good first impression

Your guest’s experience starts before they open the door. A clean entrance, good lighting, and a welcoming mat help the arrival feel considered.

I like simple designs that complement the property—a subtle stripe, an understated pattern, or a straightforward welcome. Choose something suited to your weather, with a secure backing and enough clearance for the door.

You don’t need an elaborate porch arrangement. A good mat, visible house numbers, and a well-kept entrance can be plenty.

My design tip: Have fun! Your door mat should have a bit of personality and make guests smile before they even walk in the door.

2. A welcome book that makes the stay easier

A welcome book is one of my favorite ways to bring practical information and a little personality into a property.

Put the most useful details first: the Wi-Fi password, parking instructions, how to use the heating and cooling, and how to reach you. Then share the local recommendations that make your area special.

Tell guests where you’d go for a slow breakfast, which coffee shop you love, or where to pick up something delicious for dinner. A handful of thoughtful suggestions feels more helpful than a long list copied from a tourism website.

I like a printed copy somewhere obvious, with a digital version available too. Keep it updated, easy to skim, and welcoming in tone. You can use my easy to edit welcome book template here it is inside my hosting bundle! It will work like your 24/7 concierge and it helps cut down on guests messaging for info.

3. A small, thoughtful welcome basket

A welcome basket doesn’t need to be overflowing to feel generous.

A few well-chosen items can be lovely: locally roasted coffee, packaged cookies from a nearby bakery, or easy snacks for guests arriving after a long drive.

Think about your location, your guests, and your nightly rate. Choose sealed items with ingredient labels, check expiration dates, and make it clear that the contents are complimentary.

My hosting tip: Set a budget per reservation and choose a combination you can easily replenish. A simple welcome you can maintain consistently is much easier to manage.

Here are my tips to how to create a simple welcome basket for your $5 a guest!

4. An easy-to-find Wi-Fi sign

After travelling, guests shouldn’t need to search through messages for the Wi-Fi password.

Place a small sign, like this cute wifi house sign, somewhere they’ll naturally notice it, such as the entry console, desk, or welcome book. Include the network name and password in readable text, even if you also provide a QR code.

Put it in a simple frame that works with your interior and it’s done!

Of course, the connection matters more than the sign. Check the signal in the bedroom, living area, and anywhere you’ve advertised as a workspace.

5. Quality cotton sheets

Bedding is one of the first places I would put my budget.

Look for cotton sheets that feel comfortable, wash well, and are easy to replace. Percale is lovely if you prefer a crisp feel, while sateen has a smoother finish. I love California Design Den sheet sets, they last years and only get softer with each wash. Perfect for an Airbnb.

Don’t choose by thread count alone. Pay attention to the fabric, construction, mattress depth, and care instructions.

Only buy white sheets because it gives a bedroom a fresh, clean feeling. No stains can hide! Whatever you choose, wash and test a set before buying sheets for every bed. And, please, never use micro fiber sheets.

Keep enough spare sets that a delayed load of laundry doesn’t hold up your entire turnover.

6. Comfortable pillows with a little choice

Pillow preferences are personal, so offering a couple of different feels gives guests some flexibility.

For a bed shared by two people, I’d consider a combination of softer and firmer sleeping pillows, with washable protectors underneath the pillowcases.

Keep extras somewhere obvious and protected from dust.

Decorative cushions can add colour and texture, but leave guests somewhere to put them at night. A beautifully styled bed becomes less practical when everything ends up on the floor.

7. A Sleeper Sofa That Makes Room for More Guests

Wait, where will everyone sleep? A sleeper sofa can turn your living room into an extra sleeping space, giving families and groups more flexibility without adding another bedroom. If your space and local occupancy limits allow, it could let you welcome two more guests—and put your listing in front of travellers who need that extra capacity.

As a family of four, I know how appealing this can be. My kids LOVE sofa beds, and I actively look for them when booking a stay. A comfortable sleeper sofa can be the detail that makes a guest choose your listing.

8. Window coverings that properly darken the bedroom

Pretty curtains need to work.

Check the bedroom early in the morning and after dark, particularly if there’s a streetlight outside. Curtains that look substantial during the day may let in more light than you expect.

I love the softness of linen-look curtains, paired with blackout lining or a separate room-darkening shade when needed.

Pay attention to coverage around the edges and choose cordless options where possible, especially in properties that welcome families.

This is an upgrade I would prioritise before adding more bedroom décor. I like using Two Pages curtains, you can get them made to order to fit exactly your window frame. If you use my referral code ANDREACLARKSON you can usually get up to 20-25% off.

9. Bedside lighting and accessible charging

Imagine settling into bed in your own property. Where does your phone charge? Can you reach a light? Is there room for your glasses and a glass of water?

For a bed shared by two guests, aim to provide a useful surface and reading light on both sides.

Make outlets easy to reach without moving furniture. If you add charging ports, keep ordinary outlets accessible too, since guests travel with different devices. This USB lamp comes in a set of two and has a nice warm light for the evenings.

10. A soft, washable extra blanket

An extra blanket lets guests adjust their comfort without changing the temperature of the whole property.

Choose something generously sized, pleasant to touch, and easy to wash. I’d avoid delicate throws that shed heavily or require special cleaning.

Keep it neatly folded in a designated spot so guests know it’s there to use.

A textured blanket like this one can also bring warmth to a room without adding more decorative objects.

11. Somewhere to unpack

A luggage rack solves where guests should put their suitcase. And after a day of traveling the last place you want it is on your clean bedding.

Give guests somewhere to open a suitcase, hang clothing, and put away a few belongings. Even a small bedroom can often accommodate a folding luggage rack, matching wood hangers, and a few useful hooks.

A bench at the end of the bed can work beautifully if there’s enough space to move around it comfortably.

Leave some drawers and surfaces empty. Guests need room for their own things.

Airbnb Bathroom Amenities That Feel Thoughtful

12. Soft Turkish cotton towels

Turkish cotton towels are a lovely option for a bathroom that feels a little more considered.

For bath towels, focus on softness, absorbency, and how well they work with your laundry routine. The thickest towel isn’t automatically the best choice if it takes too long to dry between stays.

The thinner, flat-woven Turkish towels can be useful for beach or pool outings. If you provide both, make it clear which towels guests can take outside.

Have enough towels for the reservation, make extras easy to find, and provide sufficient hooks or rails for everything to dry.

You can not go wrong with these Chakir Turkish Linens 100% Cotton 4-Pack Bath Towels, They come out to only $10 Each and they last for years.

13. Bathrobes for slower mornings

Bathrobes can be a lovely addition to a couples’ retreat, a property with a soaking tub, or somewhere guests come to relax.

I like washable cotton or waffle styles that suit the atmosphere of the property and fit into the turnover routine.

Look for practical sizing, hanging loops, and enough space to store clean replacements. They’ll also need laundering between guests, so consider the extra time before adding them.

I would introduce robes once the bedding, towels, and other essentials are working well. They’re a thoughtful extra when they suit the stay you’re offering. We just use the ones from Ikea and they have worked out great.

14. Thoughtfully chosen eco-friendly toiletries

If you want to offer eco-friendly toiletries, look for specific features you can verify.

That might mean refillable packaging, a documented packaging take-back programme, or credible environmental certifications. Broad descriptions such as “green” or “natural” don’t tell you much on their own.

Consider fragrance-free options or clearly describe scented products. Strong fragrances are my pet peeve. I always get a reaction. I love to use Method Bathrom Spray Eucalyptus Mint in the bathroom.

I like clearly labelled dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Follow the manufacturer’s cleaning and refilling instructions and check the levels during every turnover. Public goods is awesome and they have bulk options for refilling the pretty dispensers.  You can find Public goods here. This is my Airbnb shower and toiletry set up for guests below 🙂

15. A hair dryer and a useful getting-ready space

A hair dryer is most helpful when guests can find it without opening every cupboard.

Give it a designated drawer or basket, and think about the rest of the getting-ready experience: good mirror lighting, accessible outlets, and space for toiletries.

If your property sleeps several people, a second mirror outside the bathroom can make mornings much easier.

A a set of washable black makeup cloths is another useful addition, simply place it where guests will notice it.

16. A discreet “forgot something?” basket

A small collection of individually packaged essentials can help someone who forgot a toothbrush or needs a menstrual product late at night.

Keep the selection simple, clearly complimentary, and easy to restock. A clean drawer or small covered container works well.

Include it in your turnover checks so it remains useful for every reservation.

Keep these items separate from your first-aid supplies, with both easy to identify.

Airbnb Amenities for Coffee, Meals, and Time Together

17. A coffee and tea station that’s ready to use

A coffee maker needs a few supporting details to become a useful amenity.

Provide the coffee, correct filters or pods, mugs, teaspoons, and clear instructions if the machine isn’t straightforward. Include tea and an electric kettle for guests who prefer something different.

I like one easy-to-use machine with everything guests need beside it. We use a Kruieg with Pods and it’s really easy for any guest to figure out.

A small tray can keep the setup looking intentional without taking over the counter. Check supplies between reservations and make any limits on complimentary provisions clear.

My hosting tip: Walk through making a cup yourself. If you love having a cappuccino in the am (like me) you can provide that for your guests with a Café Bellissimo Espresso machine with grinder & milk frother. This makes for a very elevated coffee experience.

18. Kitchen tools that make a simple meal possible

If your listing includes a kitchen, guests should be able to prepare the kinds of meals the space suggests.

Think through a simple breakfast or pasta dinner. Are there usable pans, a cutting board, a suitable knife, a colander, and enough dishes for your guest count?

Then check the easy-to-miss pieces: a can opener, bottle opener, food storage containers, and somewhere to put leftovers.

For a kitchenette, be clear about what guests can cook and equip it accordingly. A microwave and toaster oven are usually more than enough for a weekend stay.

Occasionally preparing a meal in the space yourself is a helpful way to find what’s missing.

19. A small selection of games and books

A few well-chosen games and books can make an evening indoors feel inviting.

Choose for the guests you welcome. A couples’ getaway might benefit from a deck of cards and a two-player game. A family property may need a few easy-to-learn options for different ages.

Local guidebooks and books about the area can add personality while helping guests plan their stay.

Keep the collection edited and check for missing pieces. Give it an attractive, easy-to-find home so guests know they’re welcome to use it.

19. Getting Your Airbnb Ready? Let Me Help

When I’m putting a guest space together, I keep coming back to one question: What would make it easier to feel comfortable here?

You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Through my free Airbnb Ambassador support, I help new hosts prepare for launch, with guidance on their listing, photo order, and the little details that are easy to overlook.

Frequently Asked Questions About Airbnb Amenities

What are the best Airbnb amenities for a small budget?

I’d focus on useful additions such as extra hooks, a luggage rack, a clear welcome book, accessible bedside lighting, and a complete coffee setup. Prioritise anything missing from the basic guest experience before buying decorative extras.

Should every Airbnb have a welcome basket?

A welcome basket is optional. If you offer one, keep it appropriate to your budget and easy to repeat. A few thoughtfully selected items can feel generous without becoming a large ongoing expense.

Are bathrobes worth providing in an Airbnb?

They can be a good fit for a property centred on relaxation. Consider the additional laundry, replacement costs, and storage before adding them. I would introduce them once the essentials are covered.

What makes Airbnb toiletries eco-friendly?

Look for specific, supportable features rather than broad marketing language. Packaging, refill systems, and credible certifications can help inform your choice. Describe the feature you’ve verified rather than making a general environmental claim.

Do extra amenities guarantee better reviews?

No. Amenities are one part of a stay. Cleanliness, comfort, accurate listing information, maintenance, and communication still matter. Choose extras you can provide consistently and that suit the guests you want to welcome.

Which Airbnb Amenities Should You Add First?

If you’re working with a limited budget, I would start with sleep, bathing, and the practical details guests use every day.

That means comfortable bedding, good towels, effective window coverings, reliable Wi-Fi, useful lighting, and the equipment needed to enjoy the kitchen you advertise.

Then add the welcome touches: a helpful welcome book, a small basket, and perhaps one extra that suits your location.

Give yourself a manageable turnover routine before expanding the list. Every amenity needs somewhere to live, a way to be cleaned, and someone checking that it’s ready for the next guest.
