An Airbnb floor plan is a great way to highlight your Airbnb’s best features in one glance. With a floor plan, guests can easily visualize your Airbnb and understand the layout. Floorplans will cut down on questions and disappointments for guests, who now know exactly what they’re getting. They will also spend more time looking at your listing and picturing themselves there.
Airbnb Floor Plan Benefits.
You may not have thought about having a floorplan in your listing before, but they are so helpful! Not only will you make your Airbnb more competitive and informative but you can attract more potential guests with longer page engagement. Most importantly, you will avoid guests that would otherwise have false expectations and leave bad reviews.
Where to Create Floorplans.
Your best options are to create one yourself for free, use a floor plan scanning app, or hire a designer. If you have the time, you can create one yourself in an evening (a weekend project!)
1. RoomSketcher
Everyone can create professional floor plans and home designs with the Roomsketcher App. You can draw yourself, or order from their Floor Plan Services. With RoomSketcher you get an interactive floor plan that you can edit yourself in the app. Visualize your designs with high-quality 2D and 3D Floor Plans, Live 3D, stunning 3D photos, and more.
They have a free version and lots of helpful how-to videos on YouTube. The good thing about RoomSketcher is that it is intuitive and easy, so you don’t have to be a professional designer to be able to make professional floor plans and home designs.
2. Floorplanner
Floorplanner is a great way to create free floor plans. Using their free online editor you can make 2D blueprints and 3D (interior) images within minutes.
I decided to try it myself. In the most simple way possible.
I used Floorplanner to create a simple back and white layout in about 25 mins. You can get fancy and create 3D rooms, add hardwood floors, wall color, and even hundreds of furniture options. But, if you just want something simple, the B & W style looks crisp and clean.
I didn’t follow a tutorial and it was ‘easy enough’ to grasp and complete in an evening. I actually had so much fun making my floorplan, I only swore only a couple of times. Remember, there’s always the back button when needed! Here’s a video to explain the design process in more detail.
Other hosts have shared their floorplans created on Floorplanner. There are many styles you can go with. Here is a more hand-drawn feel, colorful floorplan by Louise of her New South Wales Airbnb. It gives an instant beach house feel with the private pool and gardens highlighted.
3. Archibnb
Archibnb is a company that will create a professional and modern floorplan of your Airbnb listing. You can even include more descriptive and enticing details like “big cozy bed” and “Gorgeous view from patio” Hosts provide architectural drawings or even a hand-drawn sketch, and the service will translate it into a simplified, fresh floorplan. It can even show guests where shared and private spaces are in the home. The floorplans are super cute and really worth checking out!
4. Fiver
There are many designers on Fiver that will make your floor plan. For example, you want something more detailed, like a 3D floorplan with furniture and you don’t have the time to create it yourself. This designer (photo below) has 5-star reviews and there are many more you can browse.
5. Floor Plan Scanning App
There are numerous floor plan scanning apps that will cost around $35 for a simple black and white plan. Cubi Casa is used by professional real estate agents because it’s fast and simple. Scanning with the CubiCasa floor plan app takes under 5 minutes on average and the resulting Airbnb floor plan is ready the next day. Here is an example:
I hope these Airbnb floor plan ideas get your creative juices flowing! This is something you can easily take off the back burner to really update your listing! For more ideas to make your Airbnb amazing check out my Ultimate Airbnb Host Bundle!

I am definitely going to give this a go! I have always thought adding a floor plan to my listing would be a great enhancement but have always shuddered at the cost.
